DAUGHTERS OF AFRICA AUDITIONS


DESCRIPTION OF THE DAUGHTERS OF AFRICA AUDITIONS 1. The Candidates and Pre-selection: Applicants should be female between 18 - 25 years old. They should have a good command of the English language. The candidates will sing a traditional song, from their own heritage, and a more modern ballad. The candidates should also have official approval from parents and family to attend the auditions. 2. Jury for Pre-selection: The jury will exist of both modern and traditional musicians. They will be looking for candidates with a remarkable voice, exciting stage appearance, captivating personality and a character that shows they would be willing to learn. It is also important that the selected candidates should at least be musical, pick up musical lines/melodies easily, can hold key, have feeling for presentation and can move/dance. 3. Final Auditions: Those who pass the pre-selection and proceed to the final auditions in August will be expected to prepare 4 songs: one traditional song of their own heritage; one song from their own country (ballad or so, no hip hop or jazz); one international hit song and one song they would love to do themselves. They should prepare these songs in a stage version, including steps and a professional presentation. IThe content of the song must be brought with emotion and must be personal!! The winners, before going on tour, are trained and developed by professional producers.
