LEVEL 8 CHIC

LOGIC

LOGIC

Two guys, Cameron and Nyiko are sitting at their favourite bar,
drinking beer.

Cameron turns to Nyiko and says, "You know, I'm tired of going through
life without an education. Tomorrow I think I'll go to the community
college and sign up for some classes." Nyiko agrees that it's a good
idea.

The next day, Cameron goes down to the college and meets the Dean of
Admissions, who signs him up for four basic classes: Math, English,
History, and Logic.

"Logic?" Cameron asks, "what's that?"

The dean says, "I'll show you. Do you own a lawnmower?"

"Yeah."

"Then logically speaking, because you own a lawnmower, I think that
you would have a yard."

"That's true, I do have a yard."

"I'm not done," the dean says. "Because you have a yard, I think
logically that you would have a house."

"Yes, I do have a house!"

"And because you have a house, I think that you might logically have a
family."

"I have a family."

"I'm not done yet. Because you have a family, then logically you must
have a wife."

"Yes, I do have a wife."

"And because you have a wife, then logic tells me you must be
heterosexual."

"I am heterosexual. That's amazing, you were able to find out all of
that because I have a lawnmower."

Excited to take the class now, Cameron shakes the Dean's hand and
leaves to go meet Nyiko at the bar. He tells Nyiko about his classes,
how he has signed up for Math, English, History and Logic.

"Logic?" Nyiko says, "What's that?"

"I'll show you," says Cameron. "Do you have a lawnmower?"

"No."

"Then you're gay.....

Jackson not just remembered as a music icon
- Godsway Shumba, Zimbabwe
*************************

An article from the HDN Key Correspondent Team: 3 July 2009

In most parts of the world Michael Jackson is remembered as an entertainer who influenced the music industry across several generations but not much is being said about his contributions to charities, especially those helping orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).

Even though Jackson generated significant controversy with his personal life and accusations of child sexual abuse, his contributions to beneficial causes were just as profound as his musical legacy.

Jackson donated millions of dollars to less fortunate children through the Heal the World Foundation , a charitable organization that he founded in 1992.

The foundation's creation which was inspired by his charitable single of the same name , carried out a number of projects to provide medicine to children and fight world hunger, homelessness, child exploitation and abuse.

Between June 1992 and December 1993, the King of pop , embarked on a concert tour across parts of the United States, Europe, South America and Asia to fundraise for the Heal the World Foundation.

All profits made from the tour which included 69 concerts to 3.9 million fans, were donated to the foundation and various other charities.

Jackson made great contributions to humanitarian causes, equality and world peace even before the creation of the Heal the World Foundation.

He didn't only convey the message through his songs such as "Can You Feel It ", "We Are the World " and "Man in the Mirror " but also through millions of dollars that he donated to charity.

During the Bad World Tour that began in September 1987 and finished in January 989, the dominant figure in American popular music and culture invited underprivileged children to watch for free and gave donations to hospitals, orphanages and other charities.

Jackson was one of the people who drew public attention to HIV and AIDS following the illness and death of Ryan White .

White, a teenager who was diagnosed with HIV in 1984 through a contaminated blood treatment became a national poster child for HIV and AIDS in the United States after being expelled from school because of his infection.

White and other prominent HIV-infected people helped changing the perception of AIDS as only a gay related disease.

At the time of White's death, Jackson publicly pleaded with the Clinton Administration at Bill Clinton's Inaugural Gala to give more money to HIV and AIDS charities and research.

The King of pop continued to contribute to charity throughout his life. In June 1999, he raised a million dollars for the refugees of Kosovo through the non-profit organization, Warchild .

Later that month, Jackson organized a set of "Michael Jackson & Friends" benefit concerts in Germany and Korea to raise money for the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund , the Red Cross and UNESCO .

As generations of fans remember Jackson's music and stage performances characterized by physically complicated dance techniques such as the robot and the moonwalk , I will mostly remember his contributions to make a better future for children throughout the world.

MAN!!!!

EARLY JULY EYE CANDY

BLOGGING IS RUTTY WORK...

This is jus like me being asked to go to bed...Lol!
Life is tough, we all need to "look" dangerous so peeps don mess around! Oh, for fans, "Jaws 5" is coming sooooon!
Happy Weekend! TGIF! We all just gat paid right!!

Guess what the IT specialist heard on the Op table just before they hacked his hard drive.......
When I get a comment saying this blog makes someone's day, I don mind putting in more....jokes! LOL!

TAIL TELL SIGNS...

INSPIRATION BY THE MASTER

"The highest compliment that you can pay me is to say that I work hard every day, that I never dog it"

This may make you smile. Not my usual 'doggy' jokes. However, it is mid year and I feel the need to share some personal inspiration with you all.

Recall the new year resolution you came up with? What was it you promised yourself? Be IT around love, work, family, life focused?
Le's admit it, we all make that inner promise to ourselves which remains buried deep inside the bowels of our weak persona's.

Like;
" I gotta manage my savings, please God help me saveeee!"
"Oh, how badly I need to chuck my Nissan March! God help me get that bonus!" and some really secretive ones like;
"This year I am gonna get rid of that pompous son of a %&ch!" (Husband, wife, mother, Boss.....fill the blanks!)

Yap, competition to just exist is getting tighter worldwide! Look around, animals in the Maasai Mara are dwindling due to human encroachment, Greenpeace has an ever present war stance in the high seas off Japan to thwart whaling, the Galapagos islands are struggling against human development, prostitutes in Dar just after the budget passing hiked prices by 7.5 percent in direct competition with liquor! The reason being to narrow the (PSC) Personal Stress Choice....meaning you can decide comparatively on either getting a quickie or drunk driving (or unquenched) home!

How do I know some of these things? I am seriously networked! I watch National Geographic diligently too!

Anyway, back to my inspiration.
I really want to tell you all that each day is a trial. A test of wits. In 360+ days, we all go through event fluctuations of varying degrees of urgency. If you were getting daily National Security briefings like Obama, you would probably grow white hair in 5 months!

But through it all, you are encouraged to visit this blog, get lost in in it and find solace in these mid month quotes!
I told myself that I will work harder, save up, clear debts and pave the way for happiness. The most important thing that I told myself was that I would not load myself with useless work, stick to 2 main business ventures (1 recently dropped 1 and am left with UMODO), not promise to do what I cannot, be brutally honest, say NO for my own good, focus on profit, and be honest.

I am happy to admit that half way into 09, I am doing pretty good. YES! I HAVE SLIPPED AND GOTTEN UP A FEW TIMES, very hard to kick old habits! I am even winning the fight against the bulge! By end of July, I aim to mow down 6 kilos and go down to 70kg!

There are some other stuff I won't get into, like my sex and stuff. That you judge from my bounce....

Now bounce to these cool inspirational quotes!!
1. Hard work brings prosperity; playing around brings poverty.

2. If I am anything, which I highly doubt, I have made myself so by hard work.

3. It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance?
Ronald Reagan

4. I learned the value of hard work by working hard.
Margaret M.

5. Hard work is the key to success, so work diligently on any project you undertake. If you truly want to be successful, be prepared to give up your leisure time and work past 5 PM and on weekends. Also, have faith in yourself. If you come up with a new idea that you believe in, don't allow other people to discourage you from pursuing it.
Charles Lazarus

AND NOW........ FOR THE BEST MID YEAR QUOTE!
6. When a man tells you that he got rich through hard work, ask him whose?
Don Marquis

Sound & Lighting Equipment - Urgently Needed

topback to the top

After six successful festivals in Zanzibar, Busara Promotions urgently needs to acquire its own quality sound, lighting and stage equipment. If you have contacts for organisations that may be able to supply us with new/used equipment either by donation or at a reasonable price, do let us know. A full list of requirements can be supplied on request.

Such technical equipment is in extremely short supply in Tanzania and is a resource that can be used throughout the year to generate employment and enhance the social and cultural lives of the region, as well as to build financial sustainability for the festival.

Busara Promotions is a non-profit cultural NGO registered under National Arts & Music Council of Zanzibar (BASAZA) in 2003, ref BSZ/UVS/BP/NGO/152/VOL II/2003
